The week...

As usual, I have successfully found a way to procrastinate during finals... pretty dope huh? This week has been up and down... up because the semester is almost over, but down because a lot is culminating in my life, which is kinda scary and lonesome too. Thursday I had a "see ya laters" lunch with my friend Erinna. She graduated from UCB yesterday and is headed back to La La, prolly as I type. I met her in the cardio funk class at the RSF, and we would try to hang out as much as we could to talk about school and life. I'll miss kickin' it with her and Christine at Tako Sushi... the spicy California rolls won't be as fun to eat anymore. On Friday, my team and I had our last meeting with the agency we worked a year and a half with. I can't believe it's the end. A year and a half working on a project about Russians over the age of 50 years that live in San Francisco and their physical activity. This project was definitely an experience, as a.) I'm not elderly, b.) I can't speak a lick of Russian -- barring nyet (no) and da (yes), and prolly vodka (does that have a meaning?), c.) I'm not Russian (oops, already said that). The folks that we worked with on this project treated us to lunch at Olive Garden -- unlimited breadsticks baby! The agency we worked for was super dope, and they have a wealth of knowledge and experience in public health that is amazing. I'll miss our Friday meetings. I think I'm gonna cry.
Afterwards, the East Bay Mafia hung out for a lil bit for our last time as a team. A whole year and a half working with these folks. Of course we still have about a year and a half of time left together in school, but it won't be the same. We sat at a Cafe eating Russian chocolate, getting a fat caffeine high, and looking back on this experience. The quote of the day came from John: "Don't cry because it's over. Cry because you were in a group with Kat." Whatever jive turkey sucka!
Later that day, I crashed my intern/friend/tormentor/tormentee's graduation reception at UCB. She has completed her sentence at UCB in MCB... props lady. There were sooo many folks there. Proud families. Restless brothers and sisters. The whole 9. The funniest things I saw was a brother that came to his sister's graduation rockin' shades, a wife beater, tattered jeans, and flip flops. Fitted. I also saw a dad/uncle/family friend with a red tinted perm. Super sexay. A a few grads with liquor leis -- there were little bottles of alchy stringed together. Sweet. Lee is dope. I'm glad I get to push her around for a bit more, as she will be working with us in the summer. She's gonna be an awesome doctor some day. For now, keep makin' my copies at work =P
All these thoughts flowed through my head about the process of the culmination... how things that seem like the end, are not really the end. Just a transition from one place in life to the next. Then my enlightened moment got killed when I heard some chicks sharing a bathroom stall pukin their guts out -- both got perved (east bay lingo for drunk) the night before, and were paying for it big time. Who knew that MCB chicks got down like that?
These are the things I plan on doing after I finish the last final assignment:
- go to an A's game and be a total stats nerd.
- give myself a manicure and pedicure.
- beef up my workout plan because this semester killed it.
- go to Point Reyes and take pretty pictures.
- sleep my ass off.
- watch a movie.
- try and kick it with some other folks before we part ways in a bit.
- pimp dudes in different area codes.
Can you guess which one is the lie? I've bullshitted long enough... see ya later when I come up for air. ;)
