Things I see and hear:

Went to the gym on Monday and power walked/jogged on the treadmill (yes, my new friend!). I didn't need to see the thongs of the chicks exercising in front of me. I really did not need to see that at all. If I can see it, every one else can see it, including the pervos lingering around the precor and exercise bikes. Also, ladies, you gotta feel or know that it's showing (or maybe that's the whole point of getting noticed, but are you willing to accept that negative attention? Such a complicated notion). Which brings me to the point of negative attention, which I akin to bad news (i.e. no news is good news). Any attention is better than no attention for some I suppose, but why compromise yourself? I was talking to a friend the other day about bad behavior that people exhibit in public. What is it accomplishing? Absolutely nothing. It just makes you look more foolish in the end. Moving on...
Talked to a co-worker the other day about a presentation that we helped present in the middle of last month. I didn't know if anyone else had picked up on something until she mentioned it. As a part of this presentation, we have kids make sock puppets that reflect their appearance. My co-worker thought that it was a little disturbing that all the Black kids wanted blue and green eyes and lighter toned body pieces for their puppets. Interesting. I was thinking the same thing, but it was one of those instances in which you don't know what to say. I mean for one thing, they're kids, but then again they are in the process of shaping their identity and appreciating who they are and if they aren't happy with making a puppet that looks like them, what does that say? As I said before, interesting. Next...
At my job, one of the doctors created a Black History Month video library. Thanks Dr. Alexander! I hope that people will take advantage of the opportunity to check it out. Carrying on…
I've added or have chosen to emphasize a few words in my vocab:
wounded or busted: when something or someone is toh up from the flo up
ugh: when something is just plain narsty or doesn't make any dayum sense
payce: "peace out"/audi 5000, gee!
I'll add more later...
Glad to see that we actually have students in our de-cal class and that they are interested in the topic. I'm glad to be involved in it. That's all for now... more pondernces laterz :)
