Happy Halloweenie!!!
At first, I wasn't really down with doing anything this year. Usually this time of year is kinda hard to get into, but it was different for a change. Here's how one person's perspective can change in about a day:
Friday:
Halloween fun meter -- Non-existent.
With a midterm in health policy looming on Monday and this needs assessment, I wasn't even feelin this time of year. I saw hella folks in the City scrambling around getting costumes and whatnot, but I'd be damned if it were gonna be me.
On a side note, I had another celebrity look alike encounter that day. Some dude walking down the street I swear looked like Tommy Hilfiger. I know it's supposed to be fashion week or whatever, but does anyone know if he was up in the bay? Also met with my practicum team to talk about our project. Had a phat idea for our final presentation: Popping "Revenge of the Nerds" style, as we present our data. Jollibee was down, but we still gotta convince Mylinski. We still have a month to turn her around... heehee.
Later that nite, my moms went to go cater an event at our cousin's club, and my sister hung out with some of her friends. I was looking forward to taking my moms out to go see the Ray Charles movie, but I guess I'll treat her next weekend. Anywhos, turns out that my mom, my sister and her friends all kicked it at the club! What the feezy! *sigh* How sad is it when you elect to stay home and study, while your mom and sister go out clubbing? Hrmmmm. Anywhos, spent the night reading a bit, but when my brain got fried from reading about the court system, I hoped online to get some company, especially since I was lonely cooped up in the house by myself. At least Lee, Monkey, and Ali kept me company. Thanks folks!
Halloween fun meter -- From non-existent to Bah Humbug!
Saturday:
Halloween fun meter -- Bah Humbug and decreasing.
Went to practice and am almost done with Federation piece. Woohoo!!! Only about two more eight counts to go. I just hope that it comes across well. *fingers crossed*
I was getting a bit excited about helping my sister get ready for a Halloween party her friend was gonna have in the City. My sister was gonna be Tyrone Biggums from Dave Chappelle, but because she couldn't find all the costume items and she didn't wanna come through as a crackhead, she decided not to dress up. Dayum, and I was looking forward to hookin her up. Oh wells, I was locked into being taxi cab for her and her friends tonite, so I decided that I should maybe make the most of it. My sister said that I should go as Rick James, since I already had the braids. Hrmmm, not a bad idea. So I tear through my closet to see if I can find anything. I had these leather pants, but unfortunately/happily they were too big to wear. Dayum. Oh well, I thought... but there was another idea in the back of my head. How about going as a pimp? "Sexellent" as TK would say. Sooo, back to the closet to find my pimp fit. I found a blue satin shirt that belonged to my bro... check! An old fur coat of my grandma's... check! Some leather boots... check! My mom's black straw hat... check! Some jewelry that belonged to my grandma that consisted of a blue rhinestone peacock, and gold toned bracelet, and rings for every finger... oh hell yah yuh! Homemade "Po' Pimp" goblet (well, by the end of the nite, the writing looked like it said "pampers", but was still blinging nonetheless). Off to Walgreens to get some pimp shades and make-up for a mustache. I was a full on pimp!! Pics to come soon. All this in less then an hour... oooh, I got skills. While prepping, a thought popped into my head though: my folks actually used to wear this stuff; how funny is it that it's readily available. Ha! At the party, for some reason, all these girls wanted to take pictures with me. WTF!!! Is there a costume that I can wear that cute guys will be attracted to?!?! "sigh" I had hella fun though! Tite ass costume + hella people I don't know = more of a reason to just let go and have fun. Halloween was lookin good! After the party, we went to Lake Merrit Cafe to get some grub. Some woman in line said that I looked familiar. This chick thought I was her ex-boyfriend!!! The culmination of the night... I wonder if her ex was a pimp? J/K
Halloween fun meter -- "Sexellent!"
Sunday:
Halloween fun meter -- Promising and rising.
Woke up to watch the Raiders get murdered... I forgot Marty Sch!tenheimer coaches the Chargers, so he has a vendetta against us. Dammit! But did watch a Dj Quik documentary that was really cool.
I was looking forward to passing out candy to the little ones, and tonite I saw soooo many cute kids!!! I guess the ear plugs I was referring to in a couple of post back don't have to be jammed in so far to cut down all the ticking... haha. We had this big inflatable vampire Tigger in our front yard that the younger kids were talking to and taking pictures with. Too dayum cute I tell ya. For some reason, there were a lot of kids out tonite, very different from the years past, which was really good to see. It was nice to see families coming from house to house... dads, moms, grandmas and grandpas, even older siblings escorting little ones around the neighborhood. So dayum cool!
All in all, Halloween was nice. I still have a midterm tomorrow that I better get back to hitting the books on. *sigh* I have sooo many things to do in the coming days, weeks, and months. But like they say, pimpin ain't easy... muhahaha ;)
