A long ass time...

Shit, I hate this... so many things occur in the week that I wanna blog about, but get all sidetracked and forget to do it. Now all the shit that seemed so funny and cool, are boring and cold. Argggg.... oh well, maybe I'll become an uber nerd and start carrying around a tape recorder to catch shit. Yeap, my life is that cool.

Youngins
Dayum, been hangin around youngins lately, and honestly, they hold my interest a whole lot more than some stuffy folks I interact with from time to time. Spent hella time with them on Saturday at practice. The piece is still coming together, but what I learned this weekend... Ali and Monkey can dance! This boys have some sick breakdancing moves, but this past weekend, they did the choreography! Mannnn, these boys are tough! Sometimes I forget I'm old, and today I still feel like a board. Please pass the Ben-Gay... shizer.

Forced labor:
Quick word of advice: if your folks are planning on starting a business, please be forewarned that you as the child becomes free labor! My moms is a caterer with our cousin, so me and my sis become servers, clean-up crew, yadda yadda. Me and my sis have been trying to get my moms to step into the 21st century... here is an exert of a phone convo with her about checking voicemail on her cell phone:
Mom: How do I get messages off this thing?
Me: Do you see the button with the envelope? Push it?
Mom: What button with the envelope?
Me: Look on the keypad. I meant to say hold it.
Mom: Hold what?
Me: The button with the envelope.
Mom: What?
Me: (just about screaming) THE BUTTON WITH THE ENVELOPE!
Mom: Oh. Its says I have 5 messages.
Me: Are you sure? Do you mean 5 missed calls?
Mom: Oh. Yeah.
(pause)
Mom: I still don't know how to check my voice mail. Y'all are gonna have to show me how to do this.
(Note: this is like the 3rd time I have explained to her how to check her voicemail... yay!).

SLC!
I miss the crew. Honestly, one of the best jobs I ever had! Last night, Maria had a Harvest Potluck, and it was so nice to see everyone there. Folks with babies, some expecting, folks I hadn't seen in ages, etc. Nice stuff. I wish there was a chance to do that more often. With the world I am currently in becoming more jaded, it's good to see that some folks still have the ability to still care.
