Drive slow baby…

For the past week or so I’ve been house sitting for some family friends in the City… which is cool because the place is nice and quiet, plus it’s fairly close to school at night. But I don’t think I have ever driven so much in my entire life. Day in and day out, I’m zipping to Oakland, Berkeley, Castro Valley, Hayward, SF… and that’s just Sunday… bleech. What’s cool tho is that I’m getting to know the City a lil better… and not just only the BARTable spots… but I think my sense of directions still suck. After class last nite, I went to go visit my homegirl Ing in the Presidio, and she gave me some bomb ass directions, but as usual I still got lost. Some parts of the City are too damn dark… you can’t see street signs for shit. To make it worse, it was hella foggy and started to rain. I got all turned around and shit and almost wound up going on the Golden Gate… grrrr! Thank goodness I made the exit just in time, and I passed by the SF Palace of Fine Arts on my way back to the Presidio – which is usually a welcoming sight, but that shit looks hella scary at night all lit up and what not amongst all the looming darkness and trees. Not saying that I was scared, but you know some folks might be. I finally made it to Ing’s, as she lives in the boonies of the Presidio and we kicked it for a spell… then I was off to crash at the temporary crib. The thing I learned from last night: get to know the City when there is daylight, don’t drive with a fat ass migraine (my head still hurts), and don’t scream like a lil girl when you pass by freaky looking buildings (not saying that I did, but just reminding myself is all).
