Thank yous…

Sometimes we don’t stop and do that enough. It seems like more and more people expect others to bend over backwards for their sake and well-being, and neglect to offer something so simple and expensive to echo their sincerity and appreciation in the whole process.
So thank you to the folks that have listened to me complain and rant over the past few weeks, even though it may have been exhausting to hear and I felt guilty about having this topic snake it’s way into various convos, I appreciate your honesty and understanding – or the various “snap the hell outta this shit and don’t talk about it” reminders – thanks. Props to dance and the people that I get to encounter either when I am teaching class or as a student – for my instructor that gives me guidance and support not only performance and teaching wise, but in terms of life paths and choices. I love you Allan!!! I cannot thank you enough for being an ear. For my partner in class, that regardless of the fact that we kept crashing into each other and I nearly knocked the wind out of him with my ass when he did a spin into me, we still worked at the moves and got it to look “cute down” (Quoting Allan “Big Poppa” Frias). To my students for coming to class, despite how injured or tired they are, and working to give all they have to get the moves down… much respect. For Katipunero in suffering my company almost every day for the past couple of weeks as we talk and gripe, as well as dine on all the lovely cuisines in Downtown Berkeley. That podcast idea is sweet – I don’t mine being Howard Stern if u wanna be my Robin Quivers. Nice change of pace huh? To my heroine Maria for giving me some bomb ass advice (you should write a book, I swear) and for agreeing to go palm reader hunting with me (every where we went, they were closed and not answering the phone. Maybe they saw us coming?). To the staff at my job for being supportive to one another as we go through progress report hell and deal with life at the same time. It’s all a juggling act but we make it through. And most of all, to my family, for not giving me stern reality checks, yet are comforting and understanding at the same time.
There is so much more to list, but I will be sure to do them all in person. So when was the last time you said thank you and meant it?
