A friendly game of baseball…

This season I am going to make a conscious effort to follow the Oakland A’s more closely. I dunno what happened to me. From about 1989 – 1997, I was a baseball nut. I guess it was mainly the prompting of my older brother… I swear I think he wanted little brothers. I am thankful though… I mean, how many ladies you know can keep a scorecard? Knows how to calculate a batting average? Knows that a ‘passed ball’ is not a disease a guy gets? Or that a ‘popped fly’ isn’t a broken zipper. Yes! I am juiced! Not steroid juiced, but super hyped juiced!
I’ve been meaning to write about baseball for the pass couple of weeks, especially after the passing of Kirby Puckett. What happened to guys like that by the way? Franchise players that were consistent and pretty much well respected by not only the fans, but also folks around the league. So sad. I mean A-rod has been on how many teams in his short career? Rangers, Mariners, and Yankees after they swallowed that fat contract to acquire him? Gadzooks, what has this world come to???
And steroids??? Oh wow! If you think that Mark “Big Mac” McGwire didn’t juice, obviously you didn’t see him in the early 1990s… as well as Sammy Sosa… and Mr. Barry Bonds. But I guess they really didn’t know they were getting performance enhancers… I mean, we all take our vitamins in the right ass cheek, right? Oh c’mon… I can’t be the only one who thought that!!! If so, my nutritionist has been lying to me for years… curses! *shaking fists*
And regardless of what you think about Jose Canseco… I’m glad he blew the whistle… I think the league has always been a bit shitty towards him… I mean, I would get pissed if I found out I got traded as soon as I was about the get my turn at bat… Damn you Sandy Alderson and Tony LaRussa…. Damn you to heck!!!Someday, when I have absolutely nothing to do, I will post some pics I had taken at a few Kodak Photo Days… circa 1990, 1991, 1992… I swear I was such a baseball nerd…
