FA, you guys kill me! I was not aware that I was a "pimptress" until today, according to Eli. Well, I guess that's what I get for being put in the middle of the routine, while being flanked by two guys. Yep, that's me. In the words of TK: Don't hate, participate.

It's so amazing to learn more about people you thought you already knew. Ojig, you are the bomb! I'm am so thankful that you are my friend, as you are so understanding and just a wonderful person in general. We always work on projects together and we share the same office space and such, but today, we really had the opportunity to chat it up, even though we were supposed to be working. I know, I know, such slackers... haha! We talked about X2 and Matrix (man, we are so analytical. I guess that's what public health does to you... haha), our pet peeves (in particular, people telling us what to do... I'll go into detail about this at another time). She also gave me some awesome advice on public health grad school. I'm starting to get a little nervous about going back to school, in particular how my financial situation will pan out, will I have enough time for studying and such. It's great to talk to someone who has similar interests as you, or has been down the same path that you will eventually travel. Ojig always has a way of focusing on the bright sides of situations as well. Like that we should make sure that we should cultivate positive qualities in ourselves, even though others may view them as inappropriate. And that we should never compromise ourselves to please others. I know that these statements may seem obvious to many, but when a person is able to attach an actual instance to them, the lesson tends to have more meaning and substance. Today, I also got the chance to know a little bit more about some people that take the cardio funk class (I still have to get the name of one of them, but like I said, I am still learning). I found out that one of the students in the class is studying project development at SF State, and is really passionate about dance as well. I have been taking this class with these two for about a year now, but for some reason, the opportunity to strike up a conversation escaped us. I guess being so focused on getting home and into bed, or being distracted by antics of Eli and John will do that... heehee! Thank you guys for your politeness and honesty. Just when you think things are out of your control or seem like things aren't going so great, really appreciating those around you helps you to realize that things are as bad as you thought. :)

Could I ever be a glamour girl? Hmmm... I dunno about that one. For the past few weeks, I have been really aware of my cheapo tactics and applying them at all cost. Hey, I'm gonna be going back to school in the Fall, so I better get my practice in early. When Irene and I were walking to go see "Matrix: Reloaded" (side note: This movie is dope! If you haven't seen it, go check it out!), we passed by one of those stores with exclusive hours. You know, the ones that require you to make an appointment to see one of the sales reps. None of the items in the store have price tags, so essentially if you have to ask how much, you obviously can't afford it. Aye yi yi! Maybe that wouldn't blow my mind as much if I were in a better situation, but as low as my funds currently are and has been in the past, I can't help but to find that outrageous. Sure, I will splurge every once in a while. The "girlying up" mission has been on hold as a result of this. I actually spent more than I expected to the other day on make-up. Although it put a big dent in my pocket (ouch!), I was happy to finally find some that doesn't make me look too dark, or worse, give me a greenish/yellowish hue. Yes, Kermit the Frog is loved by many, but looking like him is not gonna garner you the attention of many... especially the guys! Today, I went and got a pedicure and a manicure. I know some people that go every week for this, but with my funds, it's more like every three months... haha! The place I go to is not to far away from my house, and the people there are so nice. They are always singing and are very polite. Today I splurged and was convinced into trying the spa chair. Heaven I tell you!!! It was nice just to sit and chill, especially considering the whirlwind week I had, and the one that is just ahead. I also went to and left the shop in style... on good old AC Transit! Frugality is key I tell you. I think when I become a professor, I am still gonna swipe those dollar special coupons at Fat Slice, buy those $0.33 Shastas, or spend all my lunch and dinner times in the food ghetto, getting full off of those tasty fruity bobas... mmmmmm... bobas :) It's refreshing to see that others have this mentality as well. Whenever I go to dinner with TK, he has no shame in this. Like he'll keep extra napkins, swipe extra condiments and straws, or my favorite, ask for a cup of water, then sneak over to the soda fountain for free refills... nice! I hate to say it, but I love to go to places where my friends work and get hook-ups. I feel bad, cuz I don't wanna seem like I am exploiting them, but at the same time, when you a broke, every little bit helps. Thanks Chelsey for hooking me up with the Starbucks!
p.s.: props to my twin sista Cin-yee! Hit me up when you get the chance gurl!!
