Doughy filing...
Bleech... I'm loosing weight and toning up... but still those cute lil lovehandles remain. What the hell? It's not like overtly out there... just like I said, cute =)
One of my dancing homies, Monkey, pokes me like I'm Pillsbury or somethin'... every time I see him... gah! Then at Maria's party, I told her that I didn't want to eat that much dessert (and it was hellll of it) cuz I'm trying to lose the insulation. While patting my tummy, she goes "It's getting cold! We don't want the insulation to leave. It is our friend." Hahaha! One quick note... a true element of friendship is when you can compare and show your "insulation" with others, without them giving you shit. I'm sure it'll go away, but I'm not really trippin'. It is what it is.
One reason why it remains is because I love bread and rice! Ahhhhh... good stuff. All the places I go to load you up on it. And I come from a background where your supposed to finish everything on your plate, so I'm just keeping up tradition. Ok, all this food talk in bringin me down cuz I still can't chew. Another note: braces are a good diet plan. Ah well, the insulation just makes more of me to love =)

Dental? Damn...
So, Tuesday I went to the dentist to get my wires changed. Woohoo! And today, I feel like I got molly-whopped in the face. Dr. K is cool. He'll be graduating the same time that I'll be done with my program. My visits are always quick and he explains everything. Damn, this sounds like sales pitch, but oh well. So I go back to get the procedure done, and first he takes off the training wires. This felt and looked weird cuz when I went to go brush, it looked like I had diamond fronts or something. Every time I go there, I feel so old though. I don't think any of the other patients there are over the age of 16. Then here I stroll in (I just realized that in less than 2 months, I'll be 27... shizer).
Anywho, to make a long story short... here is an example of being a case study.
Main doc stops by to check out the work:
Main Doc: uh huh.. OH YEAH, that left side is gonna be really tough to work out.
Intern #1 peering in: OH MY!
Dr. K: Oh, now I see. Yeah, it's gonna be hard to work with that one.
(Me: dayum... is stuff that bad? *sniffle, sniffle*)
Here is essentially what is gonna happen with my grill for the next few months. Basically repositioning before closing the spaces. Therefore, any teeth that were not aligned will be pushed and pulled into place. Fun stuff! The tooth that they were so caught up on is actually rotated funny... kind of indented inwards I guess. I saw it myself, and I must say I was like Dayum, how in the hell did that happen?!?!
Anywho, then they start talkin all this dental jibberish that totally lost me. The whole little training inspection took like 5 minutes, but was hella funny to me somehow. I guess how you no longer become a person, but just "a case." I know they don't mean in bad way, but damn, I'm still there fools! Ah well, I find this to happen often, and that it is a constant struggle to get out of. Some people can't help it, but it's important for us to remember that numbers and figures are people with lives. The conundrum continues to get more complex, but we just gotta work harder to bust it apart.
Today was the litmus test though... trying to talk and eat. The wires make my teeth so sensitive now, it's ridiculous. I went to a meeting tonight and the consultant hooked us up with hella food... cookies, fancy cheeses, ... ahhh, nice stuff. Guess who couldn't enjoy? An awesome opportunity to get big time food coma... for free! But nahhh... I gotta sit there and try to chew without clanking my teeth too much. Nice. Or hold cheese in my mouth until is soft enough to partially chew. How appetizing, eh?
Later, me, Mylinksi and Jollibee went to Chinatown and I had to settle for some green tea ice cream. The ice cream may not have been the best dinner, but it was cool to hang around the East Bay Mafia for a bit. They are the bomb! Our project is winding down, but I think we have learned so much from each other during this semester. These past days, I find that I am changing more and more. Will blog about that more soon... right now, in major need of Ibuprofen... woohoo!

A long ass time...
Shit, I hate this... so many things occur in the week that I wanna blog about, but get all sidetracked and forget to do it. Now all the shit that seemed so funny and cool, are boring and cold. Argggg.... oh well, maybe I'll become an uber nerd and start carrying around a tape recorder to catch shit. Yeap, my life is that cool.
Youngins
Dayum, been hangin around youngins lately, and honestly, they hold my interest a whole lot more than some stuffy folks I interact with from time to time. Spent hella time with them on Saturday at practice. The piece is still coming together, but what I learned this weekend... Ali and Monkey can dance! This boys have some sick breakdancing moves, but this past weekend, they did the choreography! Mannnn, these boys are tough! Sometimes I forget I'm old, and today I still feel like a board. Please pass the Ben-Gay... shizer.
Forced labor:
Quick word of advice: if your folks are planning on starting a business, please be forewarned that you as the child becomes free labor! My moms is a caterer with our cousin, so me and my sis become servers, clean-up crew, yadda yadda. Me and my sis have been trying to get my moms to step into the 21st century... here is an exert of a phone convo with her about checking voicemail on her cell phone:
Mom: How do I get messages off this thing?
Me: Do you see the button with the envelope? Push it?
Mom: What button with the envelope?
Me: Look on the keypad. I meant to say hold it.
Mom: Hold what?
Me: The button with the envelope.
Mom: What?
Me: (just about screaming) THE BUTTON WITH THE ENVELOPE!
Mom: Oh. Its says I have 5 messages.
Me: Are you sure? Do you mean 5 missed calls?
Mom: Oh. Yeah.
(pause)
Mom: I still don't know how to check my voice mail. Y'all are gonna have to show me how to do this.
(Note: this is like the 3rd time I have explained to her how to check her voicemail... yay!).
SLC!
I miss the crew. Honestly, one of the best jobs I ever had! Last night, Maria had a Harvest Potluck, and it was so nice to see everyone there. Folks with babies, some expecting, folks I hadn't seen in ages, etc. Nice stuff. I wish there was a chance to do that more often. With the world I am currently in becoming more jaded, it's good to see that some folks still have the ability to still care.
