But leave that baby at home! Why expose them to much more than their little eyes can absorb, let alone comprehend? Everyone struggles at some point and time (believe me I know all too well!), but don't get to the point were you have to resort on sympathy and/or pity to pull yourself back up, as to me, it only makes you weaker. You are not relying on your skills and talents to save you, and in the end you may lose them. Let alone, exposing that still developing child to a such a negative and scarring experience.
I got suckered by the oldest con in the book. I've seen so many people asking for change while using a child for sympathy, and it is quite sad. What would bring you to that level? In a shady neighborhood? I cannot say that I completely understand what that woman and child were going through, but I can relate. Our family never was, and isn't the richest. We've done without plenty of times, but we never complained. My mom didn't drag us out in the middle of the night to ask for change. The woman had a distressed look on her face, so I knew she was going to ask me for some assistance of some sort. "Our car just ran out of gas right there, and I was wondering if you could spare a dollar or some change." My goodness. Honestly, I wasn't paying as much attention to the mother as I was the child. I could't help but look into her eyes and imagine the pain she must be experienceing. Ultimately, I gave them a little change, but I couldn't shake the feeling that...
